Tucked away in the historic neighborhood of Coconut Grove, steps away from Cocowalk, is Peacock Garden, the beloved restaurant that has been a local hidden gem and go-to dining destination in the Grove for the last 10 years. Inspired by the restaurant’s unique “secret garden” setting, Peacock Garden features an indoor/outdoor dining room perfect for al fresco dining. The garden surrounds diners with flourishing plants and flowers as they dine under the shade of tree canopies during the day and underneath starry skies at night. The menu features a Seafood & Raw Bar, Casual Favorites, Fresh Fish, Steaks, Salads, Pastas and a Daily Roast section with rotating specials. Cocktails are inspired by the garden and blend traditional techniques with contemporary mixology elements.

Peacock Garden has partnered with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and The Million Orchid Project, a program focused on propagating millions of native orchids and other important orchids for reintroduction into South Florida’s urban landscapes. Orchids are planted throughout the garden and further create a beautiful tropical oasis brimming with life and nature.

THE RESTAURATEUR
Lalo Durazo

Lalo Durazo is the seasoned restaurateur behind some of Miami’s most beloved restaurants under the DZO Hospitality portfolio – Peacock Garden, Talavera Cocina Mexicana and Bakan. A native of Mexico, he has nearly four decades of experience owning, operating and managing restaurants. After operating restaurants in Mexico City and California, Lalo moved to Miami in 2004 where he founded Jaguar Ceviche Spoon & Latam Grill, which opened in 2005 in Coconut Grove and was credited with beginning to shape the Grove neighborhood as a true dining destination. In 2009, he opened Coral Gables’ tried and true Mexican restaurant, Talavera Cocina Mexicana, which earned rave reviews from critics and guests. In 2018, he partnered with his son Eduardo to open Bakan in Wynwood. In December 2020, Lalo reopened the Grove’s hidden gem restaurant Peacock Garden with a new indoor/outdoor design, menu and beautiful “secret garden” ambiance. Lalo currently lives in Coconut Grove with his wife.
